Rear Parking Aid Camera

The rear parking aid camera is located on the luggage compartment lid and is active with the ignition in the ON position and the selector lever (automatic transmission) or gearshift lever (manual transmission) in REVERSE. The rear parking aid camera provides a video signal any time it receives voltage and ground, regardless of configuration, but it must be configured using a diagnostic scan tool after replacement in order for all features to operate properly. The camera receives commands and sends status over a dedicated LIN to the BCM.

Video Display

The rear park aid video camera image can be displayed on the FDIM (vehicles with 8 in (203 mm) touchscreen) or FCDIM (vehicles with 4.2 in (107 mm) display) depending on vehicle equipment. BCM

NOTE: The BCM settings and configuration have no influence over the video signal from the rear parking aid camera. The camera provides a video signal any time it receives voltage and ground.

The BCM serves as a gateway module between the rear parking aid camera and other modules on the HS-CAN and MS-CAN. It communicates with the rear parking aid camera via the LIN and stores Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) for the camera and the LIN in the event of a concern.
