Input Shaft: Disassembly

1.

Using the bearing separator and a hydraulic press, remove and discard the bearing. Use the General Equipment: Hydraulic Press Use the General Equipment: Bearing Separator

Remove and discard the snap ring.

4.

Using the bearing separator and a hydraulic press, Remove the 4th gear. Use the General Equipment: Hydraulic Press Use the General Equipment: Bearing Separator

5.

Remove the 3rd gear, the needle bearing and the 3rd gear synchronizer ring. Remove and discard the snap ring.

6.

Remove the 3rd and 2nd gear synchronizer assembly, 2nd gear and the needle bearing.

7.

NOTE: The detent balls are spring-loaded. Take care when removing the selector ring from the synchronizer hub.

NOTE: Mark the installed position of the selector ring.

  Synchronizer body
- 3.
  
  Compression springs
- 4.
  
  Blocker bars
- 5.
  
  Detent balls
