SYMPTOM CHART: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND PANEL ILLUMINATION

Condition	Possible Sources	Action
A module does not respond to the scan tool	Fuse Wiring, terminals or connectors Module	REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK .
All dimmable illumination does not dim	Refer to the Diagnostic Routine	GO to PINPOINT TEST A .
All dimmable non-networked illumination is inoperative	Refer to the Diagnostic Routine	GO to PINPOINT TEST B .
All dimmable non-networked illumination is always on	Refer to the Diagnostic Routine	GO to PINPOINT TEST C .
The steering wheel switch illumination is inoperative	Refer to the Diagnostic Routine	GO to PINPOINT TEST D .
One or more switch or component illumination is inoperative	Refer to the Diagnostic Routine	GO to PINPOINT TEST E .
The right front or either rear window control switch illumination is inoperative	Window control switch	VERIFY the operation of the power windows. If the power windows operate correctly, INSTALL a new window control switch. REFER to GLASS, FRAMES AND MECHANISMS . If the power windows do not operate correctly, REFER to GLASS, FRAMES AND MECHANISMS .
The left front window control switch illumination is inoperative	Wiring, terminals or connectors Window control switch	VERIFY the operation of the power mirrors. If the power mirrors operate correctly, INSTALL a new window control switch. REFER to GLASS, FRAMES AND MECHANISMS . If the power mirrors are inoperative, REFER to REAR VIEW MIRRORS .
The IPC illumination is inoperative/does not dim	IPC	CARRY OUT the network test. If the scan tool responds with no communication with the IPC, REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK . If the scan tool communicates with the IPC, INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to INSTRUMENTATION, MESSAGE CENTER, AND WARNING CHIMES . TEST the system for normal operation.
The FCIM illumination is inoperative/does not dim	FCIM	CARRY OUT the network test. If the scan tool responds with no communication with the FCIM, REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK . If the scan tool communicates with the FCIM, INSTALL a new FCIM. For the 8-inch (203mm) touchscreen, 10 speakers, REFER to INFORMATION AND ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEMS8-INCH (203 MM)TOUCHSCREEN, 10 SPEAKERS . For the THX® 8-inch touchscreen, 16 speakers, REFER to INFORMATION AND ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEMS - THX, 8-INCH (203 MM)TOUCHSCREEN, 16 SPEAKERS . TEST the system for normal operation.
The FDIM illumination is inoperative/does not dim	FDIM	CHECK for normal operation of the audio system. If the audio system operates correctly, INSTALL a new FDIM. For the 8-inch (203mm) touchscreen, 10 speakers, REFER to INFORMATION AND ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEMS8-INCH (203 MM)TOUCHSCREEN, 10 SPEAKERS . For the THX® 8-inch touchscreen, 16 speakers, REFER to INFORMATION AND ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEMS - THX, 8-INCH (203 MM)TOUCHSCREEN, 16 SPEAKERS . TEST the system for normal operation.
