Pinpoint Test Bf: DTC U0212:00
- BF1 VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN
- Ignition ON.
- Verify that there is an observable symptom present.
- Is an observable symptom present?
- Yes : GO to BF2.
- No : The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
- BF2 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
- Using a scan tool, perform a network test.
- Does the SCCM pass the network test?
- Yes : GO to BF3.
- No : REFER to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK , The Power Steering Control Module (PSCM) Does Not Respond To The Scan Tool.
- BF3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE SCCM SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the SCCM self-test.
- Are any DTCs recorded?
- Yes : REFER to STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES .
- No : GO to BF4.
- BF4 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE IPC SELF-TEST
- Using a scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
- Is DTC U3003:16 or DTC U3003:17 recorded?
- Yes
: For DTC U3003:16, GO to PINPOINT TEST BJ .
For DTC U3003:17, GO to PINPOINT TEST BK .
- No : GO to BF5.
- BF5 RECHECK THE IPC DTCs
- Using a scan tool, clear the DTCs.
- Repeat the IPC self-test.
- Is DTC U0212:00 still present?
- Yes : GO to BF6.
- No : The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
- BF6 CHECK FOR DTC U0212:00 SET IN OTHER MODULES
- Using a scan tool, clear all DTCs.
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Using a scan tool, perform self-test.
- Retrieve the continuous memory DTCs from all modules.
- Is DTC U0212:00 set in the BCM?
- Yes : INSTALL a new SCCM. REFER to STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES .
- No : INSTALL a new IPC. REFER to INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC) .
