Exhaust Manifold - RH: Installation

  1. Install 6 new RH exhaust manifold studs.
    • Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).

  2. NOTE: The catalytic converter heat shield must be positioned up into the engine compartment prior to installing the PTU bracket.
  3. Position the catalytic converter heat shield into the engine compartment.
  4. Install the PTU bracket and the 5 bolts.
    • Tighten to 55 Nm (41 lb-in).

  5. Install a new gasket, the RH exhaust manifold and 6 new nuts.
    • Tighten to 20 Nm (177 lb-in) in the sequence shown in illustration.

  6. Install the RH catalytic converter. For additional information, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM .
  7. Install the EGR tube. For additional information, refer to ENGINE EMISSION CONTROL - 3.0L (4V) .


  1. Install 6 new RH exhaust manifold studs.
    • Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).

  2. NOTE: The catalytic converter heat shield must be positioned up into the engine compartment prior to installing the PTU bracket.
  3. Position the catalytic converter heat shield into the engine compartment.
  4. Install the PTU bracket and the 5 bolts.
    • Tighten to 55 Nm (41 lb-in).

  5. Install a new gasket, the RH exhaust manifold and 6 new nuts.
    • Tighten to 20 Nm (177 lb-in) in the sequence shown in illustration.

  6. Install the RH catalytic converter. For additional information, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM .
  7. Install the EGR tube. For additional information, refer to ENGINE EMISSION CONTROL - 3.0L (4V) .
