Normal Operation

The wheel speed sensor and sensor ring generate a square wave signal to the ABS module that is proportional to wheel speed. The ABS module compares wheel speed inputs from all wheel speed sensors to determine an impending wheel lockup.

DTC DESCRIPTION

DTC Description Fault Trigger Conditions
  • C0030:07 - Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor: Mechanical Failure
 Damage to the wheel speed sensor ring or damage to the wheel bearing causes this DTC to set.
  • C0031:29 - Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor: Signal Invalid
 This DTC can set by a damaged wheel speed sensor ring, a damaged or defective wheel speed sensor, a wheel speed sensor that is not mounted properly or mismatched tire sizes.
  • C0031:2F - Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor: Signal Erratic
 This DTC can set by a damaged wheel speed sensor ring, a damaged or defective wheel speed sensor or a wheel speed sensor that is not mounted properly.
  • C0031:64 - Left Front Wheel Speed Sensor: Signal Plausibility Failure
 This DTC can set by a damaged wheel speed sensor ring, a damaged or defective wheel speed sensor, a wheel speed sensor that is not mounted properly or mismatched tire sizes.
  • C0033:07 - Right Front Wheel Speed Sensor: Mechanical Failure
 Damage to the wheel speed sensor ring or damage to the wheel bearing causes this DTC to set.
  • C0034:29 - Right Front Wheel Speed Sensor: Signal Invalid
 This DTC can set by a damaged wheel speed sensor ring, a damaged or defective wheel speed sensor, a wheel speed sensor that is not mounted properly or mismatched tire sizes.
  • C0034:2F - Right Front Wheel Speed Sensor: Signal Erratic
 This DTC can set by a damaged wheel speed sensor ring, a damaged or defective wheel speed sensor or a wheel speed sensor that is not mounted properly.
  • C0034:64 - Right Front Wheel Speed Sensor: Signal Plausibility Failure
 This DTC can set by a damaged wheel speed sensor ring, a damaged or defective wheel speed sensor, a wheel speed sensor that is not mounted properly or mismatched tire sizes.
  • C0036:07 - Left Rear Wheel Speed Sensor: Mechanical Failure
 Damage to the wheel speed sensor ring or damage to the wheel bearing causes this DTC to set.
  • C0037:29 - Left Rear Wheel Speed Sensor: Signal Invalid
 This DTC can set by a damaged wheel speed sensor ring, a damaged or defective wheel speed sensor, a wheel speed sensor that is not mounted properly or mismatched tire sizes.
  • C0037:2F - Left Rear Wheel Speed Sensor: Signal Erratic
 This DTC can set by a damaged wheel speed sensor ring, a damaged or defective wheel speed sensor or a wheel speed sensor that is not mounted properly.
  • C0037:64 - Left Rear Wheel Speed Sensor: Signal Plausibility Failure
 This DTC can set by a damaged wheel speed sensor ring, a damaged or defective wheel speed sensor, a wheel speed sensor that is not mounted properly or mismatched tire sizes.
  • C0039:07 - Right Rear Wheel Speed Sensor: Mechanical Failure
 Damage to the wheel speed sensor ring or damage to the wheel bearing causes this DTC to set.
  • C003A:29 - Right Rear Wheel Speed Sensor: Signal Invalid
 This DTC can set by a damaged wheel speed sensor ring, a damaged or defective wheel speed sensor, a wheel speed sensor that is not mounted properly or mismatched tire sizes.
  • C003A:2F - Right Rear Wheel Speed Sensor: Signal Erratic
 This DTC can set by a damaged wheel speed sensor ring, a damaged or defective wheel speed sensor or a wheel speed sensor that is not mounted properly.
  • C003A:64 - Right Rear Wheel Speed Sensor: Signal Plausibility Failure
 This DTC can set by a damaged wheel speed sensor ring, a damaged or defective wheel speed sensor, a wheel speed sensor that is not mounted properly or mismatched tire sizes.
