Pinpoint Test Ac: DTC C1029:00, C102B:00

  1. AC1 BLEED THE BRAKES 
    • Bleed the brakes. Refer to BRAKE SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION .
      • Clear the DTCs.
      • Road test the vehicle.
    • Is the concern still present? 
      • Yes:  GO to AC2
      • No:  The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by air in the brake system.
  2. AC2 MONITOR THE ABS PRIMARY AND SECONDARY CHANNEL PRESSURES 
    • Connect the scan tool.
    • Ignition ON.
    • Enter the following diagnostic mode on the scan tool: ABS Module DataLogger.
    • Select the following PIDs to monitor the primary and secondary channels.
      • Left front brake pressure (LF_BRK_PRS)
      • Right rear brake pressure (RR_BRK_PRS)
      • Right front brake pressure (RF_BRK_PRS)
      • Left rear brake pressure (LR_BRK_PRS)
    • Depress the brake pedal firmly and note the brake pressures displayed by each PID.
    • Add the pressures for the left front brake pressure and the right rear brake pressure together (secondary channel).
    • Add the pressures for the right front brake pressure and the left rear brake pressure together (primary channel).
    • Are the primary and secondary channel pressures within 10% of each other? 
      • Yes:  CLEAR the DTCs, REPEAT the self-test. If C1029:00 or C102B:00 returns, INSTALL a new HCU. REFER to HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU)  .
      • No:  CLEAR the DTCs, REPEAT the self-test. If C1029:00 or C102B:00 returns, INSTALL a new brake master cylinder. REFER to HYDRAULIC BRAKE ACTUATION .
