Removal & Installation

  1. Using the parking brake release handle, release the parking brake control.
  2. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING article.
  3. Pull the parking brake adjuster clip downward.

  5. Apply the parking brake control fully.
  6. Push upward on the parking brake adjuster clip to lock the adjuster.

  8. Using the parking brake release handle, release the parking brake control.
  9. Disconnect the front parking brake cable from the LH rear parking brake cable at the cable union.

  11. Disconnect the LH rear parking brake conduit from the cable adjuster.

  13. Disconnect the LH rear parking brake cable from the LH rear parking brake cable extension union and remove the LH rear parking brake cable and conduit.
  14. Press the retaining tabs and disconnect the RH rear parking brake cable and conduit from the frame bracket.
  15. Remove the RH rear parking brake cable wire-form bracket bolts.
    • To install, tighten to 17 Nm (150 lb-in).
  16. Disconnect the RH rear parking brake cable and conduit from the axle housing clips.
  17. Disconnect the RH rear parking brake cable from the RH rear parking brake cable extension union and remove the RH rear parking brake cable and conduit.
  18. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
