Pinpoint Test G: A Single Illumination Source Is Inoperative - Door Lock Control Switches

  1. G1 CHECK CIRCUIT 194 (PK) FOR VOLTAGE 
    • Disconnect: Suspect door lock control switch.
    • Key in ON position.
    • Measure the voltage between the driver door lock control switch C605-5,, or the passenger door lock control switch C605-5, circuit 194 (PK), harness side and ground.

    • Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? 

    Yes  : GO to G2.

    No  : VERIFY that central junction box (CJB) fuse 17 (15A) is OK. If OK, REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.

  2. G2 CHECK CIRCUIT 57 (BK) FOR AN OPEN 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Measure the resistance between the driver door lock control switch CL C505-1, or the passenger door lock control switch C605-1, circuit 57 (BK), harness side and ground.

    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? 

    Yes  : INSTALL a new door lock control switch. REFER to HANDLES, LOCKS, LATCHES AND ENTRY SYSTEMS . TEST the system for normal operation.

    No  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
