Pinpoint Test G: The Roof Opening Panel Does Not Open Or Close In Vent Position

G1 CHECK THE FRONT SLIDING GLASS PANEL OPERATION
- Attempt to open and close the front sliding glass panel using the roof opening panel slide switch.
- Does the front sliding glass panel open and close using the slide control switch?
- Yes : GO to G2.
- No : GO to PINPOINT TEST F to diagnose the inoperative front sliding glass panel.
G2 CHECK THE ROOF OPENING PANEL SWITCH
- Ignition OFF.
- Disconnect: Roof Opening Panel Switch C912.
- Carry out the Roof Opening Panel Switch Component Test. Refer to COMPONENT TESTING article, for component testing.
- Is the roof opening panel switch OK?
- Yes : GO to G3.
- No : INSTALL a new roof opening panel switch. TEST the system for normal operation.
G3 CHECK CIRCUIT CPR38 (WH/BU) FOR AN OPEN
- Measure the resistance between roof opening panel switch C912-3, circuit CPR38 (WH/BU), and roof opening panel module C921-7, circuit CPR38 (WH/BU), harness side.

- Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
- Yes : CHECK the overhead console jumper harness for loose pins, an open or a short in circuit CPR38 (WH/BU) between the roof opening panel switch socket and overhead console C921-7. If the overhead console jumper harness is not OK, INSTALL a new overhead console jumper harness and TEST the system for normal operation. If the overhead console jumper harness is OK, GO to G4.
- No : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
G4 CHECK THE ROOF OPENING PANEL MOTOR/MODULE FOR CORRECT OPERATION
- Disconnect all roof opening panel motor/module connectors.
- Check for:
  - corrosion.
  - bent pins.
  - pushed-out pins.
- Connect all roof opening panel motor/module connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
- Yes : INSTALL a new front sliding glass panel motor. REFER to ROOF OPENING PANEL MOTOR - SLIDING FRONT PANEL in this service information. TEST the system for normal operation.
- No : The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. TEST the system for normal operation.
