Parking Aid: Rear

The rear parking aid system consists of the following:

• Four ultrasonic parking aid sensors (located in the rear bumper)
• Parking Aid Module (PAM) (located under the left side parcel shelf)
• Rear parking aid speaker (located under the left side parcel shelf)
• Parking aid disable feature (integral to the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) message center)
• Parking aid disable feature is not available when a MyKey™ is in use

The rear parking aid system calculates the distance to an object around the rear of the vehicle by the use of 4 ultrasonic sensors. The parking aid system sounds a warning to alert the driver of stationary objects near the rear bumper when REVERSE (R) is selected.

The rear sensors are activated at all times when REVERSE (R) is selected. The parking aid system assists the driver in detecting certain objects while the vehicle moves in reverse at speeds less than 4.8 km/h (3 mph). The parking aid system may not detect moving objects.
