Front and Rear
The front and rear parking aid system consists of the following:
- Four ultrasonic parking aid sensors (located in the front bumper)
- Four ultrasonic parking aid sensors (located in the rear bumper)
- PAM (located under the left side parcel shelf)
- Front parking aid speaker (located on the hush panel assembly below the glove box)
- Rear parking aid speaker (located under the left side parcel shelf)
- Parking aid disable feature (integral to the IPC message center)
- Parking aid disable feature is not available when a MyKey™ is in use
The front and rear parking aid system sounds a warning to alert the driver of stationary objects near the rear bumper when REVERSE (R) is selected or an object near the front bumper when DRIVE (D) is selected.
For the rear parking system, when in REVERSE (R), the front and rear sensors are active. The parking aid system calculates the distance to an object around the rear of the vehicle by the use of 4 ultrasonic sensors. The parking aid system assists the driver in detecting certain objects while the vehicle moves in reverse at speeds less than 4.8 km/h (3 mph). The parking aid system may not detect moving objects.
For the front parking aid system, when in DRIVE (D), only the front sensors are active. The parking aid system calculates the distance to an object around the front of the vehicle by the use of 4 ultrasonic sensors. The front sensors are activated if the vehicle speed is greater than 0 km/h (0 mph) and less than 13 km/h (8 mph). The parking aid system may not detect moving objects.
