Normal Operation
The Parking Aid Module (PAM) sends and receives network messages over the High Speed Controller Area Network (HS-CAN) from the Power Steering Control Module (PSCM) which is part of the Electronic Power Assist Steering (EPAS) system. A fault condition occurs when the PSCM does not send an acknowledge exit message to the PAM indicating the EPAS system has exited the active park assist maneuvers.
This fault occurred while the operator was using the active park assist system and the system had control of the steering. During the failure, the operator should see the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) message center message "Active Park Fault" followed by an audible chime.
- DTC B1304:68 (Electronic Power Assisted Steering System: Event Information) - sets when the PAM does not receive an acknowledge exit message from the PSCM.
This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:
- PAM
- PSCM
