Inspection and Verification

- Verify the customer concern.
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to JACKING AND LIFTING -- FOCUS .
- Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage. Refer to the following chart:

- Brake shoe backing plate
- Parking brake cable equalizer
- Parking brake control
- Rear parking brake cables and conduits
- If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
