Pinpoint Test W: The Service Soon Warning Indicator Is Inoperative (Hybrid)

- W1 CHECK THE RECORDED DTCs FROM BOTH CONTINUOUS AND ON-DEMAND PCM, TBCM, TCM AND POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE SELF-TESTS
- Check the DTCs from the continuous and on-demand self-tests.
- Are any DTCs recorded?
- YES
: If any PCM DTCs are recorded, REFER to INTRODUCTION -- HYBRID ENGINES

If any other DTCs are recorded, REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES article.
- NO : Go to W2.
- W2 CARRY OUT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER PROVE-OUT
- Carry out the instrument cluster self-diagnostic test for the bulb check.
- Observe the service soon warning indicator.
- Does the service soon warning indicator illuminate?
- W3 CHECK FOR CORRECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER OPERATION
- Disconnect the instrument cluster connector.
- Check for:
- corrosion
- damaged pins
- pushed-out pins
- Connect the instrument cluster connector and make sure it seats correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
- YES : INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to Instrument Cluster . TEST the system for normal operation.
- NO : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
- W4 CHECK FOR CORRECT PCM OPERATION
- Disconnect all the PCM connectors.
- Check for:
- corrosion
- damaged pins
- pushed-out pins
- Connect all the PCM connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
- Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
- YES : INSTALL a new PCM. REFER to ELECTRONIC ENGINE CONTROLS - HYBRID article. TEST the system for normal operation.
- NO : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
