Pinpoint Test H: No Sound From All Speakers

  1. H1 CHECK THE AUDIO UNIT 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: Audio Unit C229e
    • Key in ON position.

    • Measure the voltage between the audio unit C229e-7, circuit 1786 (BN/PK), harness side and ground.
    • Is any voltage present? 
    1. YES  : Go to  H2.
    2. NO  : SEND the audio unit to an authorized audio system repair facility. TEST the system for normal operation after the repair.
  2. H2 CHECK CIRCUIT 1786 (BN/PK) FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE 
    • Disconnect: SJB C2280a

    • Measure the voltage between the audio unit C229e-7, circuit 1786 (BN/PK), harness side and ground.
    • Is any voltage present? 
    1. YES  : REPAIR the circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
    2. NO  : Go to  H3.
  3. H3 CHECK FOR CORRECT SJB OPERATION 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect all the SJB connectors.
    • Check for:
      • corrosion
      • damaged pins
      • pushed-out pins
    • Connect all the SJB connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
    • Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
    • Is the concern still present? 
    1. YES  : INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES article. TEST the system for normal operation.
    2. NO  : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
