Removal And Installation

CAUTION:
While repairing the power steering system, care should be taken to prevent the entry of foreign material or failure of the power steering components may result.
NOTE:
The hydraulic booster jumper line and the pressure line can be serviced separately. It is not necessary to disconnect the jumper line from the hydraulic booster when servicing the pressure line.
All vehicles
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING article.
- Remove the air cleaner assembly. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION AND FILTERING article.
- Remove the cooling fan stator. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING article.
- Remove the power steering pump pulley. For additional information, refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley .
- Disconnect the pressure line-to-hydraulic booster jumper line fitting.
- To install, tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft).
- Detach the pressure line from the pressure line clip.
- Disconnect the pressure line-to-pump fitting.
- To install, tighten to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTE:
Thoroughly clean all foreign material from the threads.
NOTE:
The hydraulic booster jumper line and the pressure line can be serviced separately. It is not necessary to remove the jumper line from the hydraulic booster when servicing the pressure line.
