Pinpoint Test V: The Anti-Theft Indicator Is Never/Always On

- V1 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM BOTH THE CONTINUOUS AND ON-DEMAND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SELF-TESTS
- Retrieve the recorded DTCs from the instrument cluster continuous and on-demand self-tests.
- Are there any DTCs retrieved?
- YES
: If PATS related DTCs were retrieved, REFER to ANTI-THEFT - PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (PATS)
.
If other instrument cluster DTCs were retrieved, go to Symptom Chart .
- NO : VERIFY the vehicle is equipped with PATS. Go to V2 .
- V2 CONFIRM VEHICLE CONFIGURATION
- Using as built data, verify that the instrument cluster is configured to enable PATS. Refer to MODULE CONFIGURATION .
- Is PATS enabled in the instrument cluster?
- YES : Go to V3.
- NO : CONFIGURE the instrument cluster. REFER to MODULE CONFIGURATION .
- V3 CHECK FOR CORRECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER OPERATION
- Disconnect all the instrument cluster connectors.
- Check for:
- corrosion
- damaged pins
- pushed-out pins
- Connect all the instrument cluster connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
- YES : INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to Instrument Cluster (IC) . TEST the system for normal operation.
- NO : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
