Removal And Installation

  1. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION AND FILTERING article.
  2. Drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding - 2.3L  in this article.
  3. Remove the drive belt. For additional information, refer to ACCESSORY DRIVE article.
  4. Remove the bolts and the coolant pump pulley.
    • To install, tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft).
  5. Remove the bolts and the coolant pump.
    • To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  6. NOTE: Lubricate the coolant pump O-ring seal with clean coolant.
  7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
