Normal Operation

The power liftgate on/off status is sent from the Liftgate/Trunk Module (LTM) to the Instrument Cluster (IC) over the Medium Speed Controller Area Network (MS-CAN) communication bus lines. When the RESET button is pressed, the IC  sends a query to the LTM  , requesting a system status. The LTM  responds to the IC with the status of the system, either on or off. If the return status message is missing or corrupted, the IC  does not display the brackets around either the ON or OFF selection.
