Removal and Installation

All vehicles 

  1. Remove the front door handle bezel.
    • Open the screw cover (cover is tethered).
    • Remove the screw.
    • Remove the front door handle bezel.
      • Disconnect the electrical connectors, if equipped.

    MKX only 

  2. Open the front door window control switch bezel screw cover.

    Edge only 

  3. Lift and remove the front door window control switch mat.

    All vehicles 

  4. Remove the screw.
  5. Remove the 6 front door trim panel screws.
  6. Disengage the bottom of the door trim panel from the door.
    • Pull outward on the trim panel to disengage the push pins from the door.
  7. Lift the top of the door trim panel edge upward and out of the beltline molding.
  8. Lift the door trim panel up and off of the lock rod.
  9. Remove the front door trim panel.
    • Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  10. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
