Removal And Installation

All doors

If equipped, remove the door trim panel. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION article.

Rear door

Remove the 4 license plate housing screws.
Position the housing away from the door.

NOTE: The rear door exterior door handle is part of the license plate housing.

Disconnect the door lock cylinder actuating rod and the door latch cable and remove the license plate housing.

Rear door with E-Guard Cargo Protection System

Remove the 4 license plate housing screws.
Position the housing away from the door.

NOTE: The rear door exterior door handle is part of the license plate housing.

Disconnect the door latch cable.

NOTE: View of the door lock cylinder cover is from the bottom.

Release the 2 tabs on the door lock cylinder cover and slide it off the door lock cylinder.

Side door

NOTE: Use the special tool to install the exterior door handle assembly rivets.

Remove the 2 rivets.
Disconnect the actuating rod from the door handle.

All doors

NOTE: Use the special tool to install the exterior door handle assembly rivets.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
