Pinpoint Test E: The Memory Set Switch Illumination Is Inoperative
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Lincoln MKX and 2007 Ford Edge. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION:
Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.
- E1 CHECK OPERATION OF THE SET SWITCH
- Verify the operation of the memory set switch.
- Does the set switch work and the drivers seat move to a set position?
- E2 CHECK CIRCUIT CPS55 (YE) FOR VOLTAGE
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: Set Switch C503
- Key in ON position.
- Measure the voltage between the set switch C503-8, circuit CPS55 (YE), harness side and ground.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?

- E3 CHECK CIRCUIT CPS55 (YE) FOR AN OPEN OR SHORT TO GROUND
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: Drivers Seat Module (DSM) C3299c
- Measure the resistance between the set switch C503-8, and the DSM C3299c-8, circuit CPS55 (YE) harness side; and between the set switch C503-8, circuit CPS55 (YE), harness side and ground.
- Is the resistance from C503-8 to C3299c-8 less than 5 ohms; and the resistance from C503-8 to ground greater than 10,000 ohms?
