Normal Operation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Lincoln MKX and 2007 Ford Edge. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The wheel speed sensor and sensor tone ring generate a signal to the ABS module that is proportional to wheel speed. The ABS module compares wheel speed inputs from all wheel speed sensors to determine an impending wheel lockup. Incorrect tire size can cause these DTCs to be set as well.

If the output of one of the sensors does not match the output of the other sensors or if one or more sensors has an erratic output, DTC C1222, C1233, C1234, C1235 and/or C1236 will be set.
