Interior Lighting Delay

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Lincoln MKX and 2007 Ford Edge. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The interior lighting delay feature provides temporary illumination of the courtesy lamps after the doors are opened and then closed. The interior lighting delay feature keeps the courtesy lamps on for a period of 25 seconds after all the doors are closed. If during the 25 second delay time the SJB detects that the ignition has been turned out of OFF, or if the vehicle is locked using the remote keyless entry (RKE) transmitter or the keypad, the courtesy lamp illumination is discontinued.
