Pinpoint Test At: The Key-In-Ignition Warning Chime Is Inoperative

AT1 CHECK THE INTERIOR LIGHTS OPERATION
- Key in OFF position.
- Open then close the driver door while observing the interior lights.
- Do the interior lights operate correctly?
1. YES : Go to AT2.
2. NO : REFER to INTERIOR LIGHTING article.
AT2 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs FROM THE CONTINUOUS AND ON-DEMAND SJB SELF-TESTS
- Check the recorded DTCs from the SJB self-tests.
- Is DTC B1352 present?
1. YES : Go to AT3.
2. NO : Go to AT4.
AT3 CHECK THE IGNITION SWITCH
- Disconnect: Ignition Switch C250
- Carry out the ignition switch component test. Refer to COMPONENT TESTING.
- Is the ignition switch OK?
1. YES : REPAIR circuit CDC30 (BU/GY) for an open or short to ground. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
2. NO : INSTALL a new ignition switch. REFER to STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES article. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
AT4 CHECK FOR CORRECT SJB OPERATION
- Disconnect all the SJB connectors.
- Check for:
  - corrosion
  - damaged pins
  - pushed-out pins
- Connect all the SJB connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
1. YES : INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES article. TEST the system for normal operation.
2. NO : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
