Engine Support Insulators: Installation

    RH engine mount 

    CAUTION: Clean the engine mount bracket-to-cylinder block mating surfaces of any dirt or foreign material prior to installation.
  1. Position the RH engine mount bracket and install the 4 bolts.
    • Tighten to 63 Nm (46 lb-ft).

  2. CAUTION: Clean the engine mount-to-chassis mating surfaces of any dirt or foreign material prior to installation.
  3. Position the RH engine mount and install the 4 bolts.
    • Tighten to 63 Nm (46 lb-ft).

  4. LH engine mount 

    CAUTION: Clean the engine mount-to-oil filter adapter and engine mount-to-chassis mating surfaces of any dirt or foreign material prior to installation.
  5. Position the LH engine mount and install the 3 bolts.
    • Tighten to 63 Nm (46 lb-ft).

  6. All vehicles 

  7. Lower the engine into position.
  8. CAUTION: Only use hand tools when installing the RH engine mount nut or damage to the engine mount can occur.
    NOTE: RH shown, LH similar.
  9. Install the 6 engine mount nuts.
    • Tighten to 103 Nm (76 lb-ft).

  10. CAUTION: Only use hand tools when installing the transmission mount-to-crossmember nuts or damage to the transmission mount can occur.
  11. Install the transmission mount-to-crossmember nuts.
    • Tighten to 103 Nm (76 lb-ft).

  12. Position the Y-pipe and install the 4 nuts.
    • Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

  13. Remove the special tools.

  14. If installing the RH engine mount, install the starter. For additional information, refer to STARTER MOTOR .
  15. Install the upper cooling fan shroud. For additional information, refer to COOLING FAN -- BLADE, CLUTCH AND SHROUD .
  16. Install the generator. For additional information, refer to GENERATOR -- GASOLINE ENGINES .
  17. Install the air cleaner housing. For additional information, refer to AIR CLEANER -- 5.4L (3V) .
  18. Connect the battery ground cable.
