Removal and Installation

  1. Depower the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM .

  2. Remove the ignition switch lock cylinder.
    1. Insert the ignition key into the lock cylinder and turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
    2. Push the ignition switch lock cylinder release tab with a punch while pulling out the ignition switch lock cylinder.
  3. If equipped, twist the tilt wheel handle and remove it.
  4. Remove the screws and the steering column shrouds.
  5. Remove the screws and the multi-function switch.
    • To install, tighten to 3 Nm (27 lb-in).
  6. Disconnect the multi-function switch electrical connectors.
  7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  8. Repower the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM .
