Instrument Cluster and Panel Illumination: Notes

The instrument cluster and panel illumination is used to provide backlighting to the instrument panel, switches and control components when the headlamp switch is in either the parking lamp ON, headlamp ON, or the autolamp ON during low light conditions. The level of intensity is adjustable by rotating the instrument panel dimmer switch either up to increase intensity or down to decrease intensity. A dimmer module is also used to automatically turn on the backlighting when low levels of light exists and to increase the illumination intensity to provide adequate contrast.
