Test K: Low Washer Fluid Warning Never/Always On

  1. Ensure washer reservoir is full. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect washer fluid level sensor harness connector. Turn ignition switch to ON position. If washer warning is on, go to next step. If washer warning is not on, go to step  3 .
  2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Measure resistance between ground and Black wire terminal at washer fluid level sensor harness connector. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to step  4 . If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire.
  3. Disconnect Virtual Image Cluster (VIC) harness connector C256. Measure resistance of Pink/Yellow wire between washer fluid level sensor harness connector and terminal No. 17 at VIC harness connector C256. See Figure . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Pink/Yellow wire.
  4. Measure resistance between washer fluid level sensor terminals (component side). If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, replace washer fluid level sensor. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace VIC. See VIRTUAL IMAGE CLUSTER (VIC)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
