Test V: Oil Level Warning Inoperative

  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect low oil level switch harness connector C1019. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage between ground and White/Pink wire terminal at low oil level switch harness connector C1019. If 4 volts or less exists, go to next step. If greater than 4 volts exists, replace low oil level switch.
  2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect Virtual Image Cluster (VIC) harness connector C256. Measure resistance between ground and White/Pink wire terminal at low oil level switch harness connector C1019. Resistance should be greater than 10 k/ohms. Measure resistance of White/Pink wire between low oil level switch harness connector C1019 and terminal No. 8 at VIC harness connector C256. See Figure . Resistance should be less than 5 ohms. If any resistance is not as specified, repair open or short in White/Pink wire. If all resistances are as specified, replace VIC. See VIRTUAL IMAGE CLUSTER (VIC)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
