Test U: Message Center Not Operating Properly (DTCS B1205, B1208, B1209 & B1212)
- Turn ignition switch to ON position. Press each message center button and listen for tone. If tone does not sound when each button is pressed, go to next step. If tone sounds when each button is pressed, system is okay at this time.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect message center switch module harness connector C266. Measure resistance between terminals at message center switch module (component side) while pressing each button. See MESSAGE CENTER SWITCH MODULE RESISTANCE
table. See Fig 1
. If all resistances are as specified, go to next step. If any resistance is not as specified, replace message center switch module.MESSAGE CENTER SWITCH MODULE RESISTANCE

Measure resistance of Light Green wire between terminal No. 3 at Virtual Image Cluster (VIC) harness connector C256 and terminal No. 4 at message center switch module harness connector C266. See Figure and Fig 2 . Measure resistance of Light Blue/Yellow wire between terminal No. 13 at VIC harness connector C256 and terminal No. 5 at message center switch module harness connector C266. Measure resistance of Pink/Orange wire between terminal No. 15 at VIC harness connector C256 and terminal No. 2 at message center switch module harness connector C266. If all resistances are 5 ohms or less, replace VIC. See VIRTUAL IMAGE CLUSTER (VIC) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If any resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in appropriate circuit(s). See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
