Test S: Steering Column Lock Warning Indicator Never/Always On

Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Connect New Generation Star (NGS) tester to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using NGS tester, select instrument cluster active command WARNING LAMPS AND CHIMES. Trigger ALL LAMPS ON, then OFF. Steering column lock warning indicator should illuminate when triggered ON and should not illuminate when triggered OFF. If steering column lock warning indicator operate as specified, repair steering column lock system concern. See STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES - LS article. If steering column lock warning indicator does not operate as specified, replace instrument cluster.
