Test S: Turn On Headlamps Warning Never/Always On

Start engine. Turn autolamps on. Monitor autolamp operation. Increase autolamp delay time. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. If autolamps operate properly, go to next step. If autolamps do not operate properly, repair autolamp system. See AUTOLAMP SYSTEMS - CONTINENTAL article.
Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Cover light sensor amplifier. Ensure headlight switch is off. If TURN ON HEADLAMPS indicator is off, go to next step. If TURN ON HEADLAMPS indicator is on, system is okay at this time.
Connect NGS tester to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using NGS tester, select LCM active command WARNING LAMPS AND CHIME. Trigger daytime running lights active command and observe TURN ON HEADLAMPS indicator. Using NGS tester, select instrument cluster active command WARNING LAMPS AND CHIME. Trigger turn on headlamps indicator active command. Observe TURN ON HEADLAMPS indicator. If indicator is on, replace LCM. If indicator is not on, replace instrument cluster.
