Test R: Seat Belt Switch Circuit Failure
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect New Generation Star (NGS) tester to Data Link Connector (DLC). Ensure all doors are fully closed. Using NGS tester, perform Lighting Control Module (LCM) self-test. If DTC B1462 exists, go to next step. If DTC B1462 does not exist, perform appropriate test. See LIGHTING CONTROL MODULE DTC INDEX table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
- Buckle driver's seat belt. Using NGS tester, monitor PID D_SBELT. If PID does not indicate IN, go to next step. If PID indicates IN, replace LCM.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect LCM harness connector C208. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 4 (Brown/Light Blue wire) at LCM harness connector C208. See Figure . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace LCM. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 4 (Brown/Light Blue wire) at LCM harness connector C208. See Figure . If voltage does not exist, go to next step. If voltage exists, repair short to power in Brown/Light Blue wire.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect driver's seat belt switch harness connector C308. Measure resistance in Brown/Light Blue wire between driver's seat belt switch harness connector C308 and terminal No. 4 at LCM harness connector C208. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace driver's seat belt switch. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Brown/Light Blue wire.
