Test Ad: Chime Sounds When Driver's Door Is Closed (Headlights Off & Key Removed)

WARNING: Vehicle is equipped with an air bag system. To prevent air bag deployment, system must be disabled before working near steering column and instrument cluster. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article.
  1. Remove key from ignition. Ensure headlights are off. Using NGS tester, monitor Lighting Control Module (LCM) PID IGN_KEY. If PID does not indicate IN, go to next step. If PID indicates IN, go to step  4 .
  2. Disconnect LCM harness connector C206. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 7 (Black/Pink wire) at LCM harness connector C206. See Figure . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, go to step  4 .
  3. Disconnect key-in-ignition switch harness connector C2012. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 5 (Black/Pink wire) at key-in-ignition switch harness connector C2012. See Figure . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, repair Black/Pink wire. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, replace key-in-ignition switch.
  4. Disconnect all LCM harness connectors. Inspect for corrosion and pushed out pins. Reconnect all LCM harness connectors, ensuring they are connected correctly. Operate system to verify if concern is still present. If concern is still present, replace LCM. If concern is not present, system is operating correctly at this time. Clear DTCs and repeat LCM self-test.
