Test AF: Low Tire Pressure Warning Light Never On

  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Low tire pressure warning light should illuminate and then turn off after a few seconds. If light never illuminates, go to next step. If light is always on or flashing, perform TEST AE: LOW TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ALWAYS ON OR FLASHING  . If light operates as specified, system is okay at this time.
  2. Remove fuse No. 28 (10-amp) in instrument panel fuse box. Check fuse. If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is blown, repair short to ground in Light Green/Violet wire between instrument panel fuse box and low tire pressure module.
  3. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Ensure fuse No. 28 is still removed. Disconnect low tire pressure module harness connector C927. Measure resistance in Light Green/Violet wire between output side of fuse No. 28 in instrument panel fuse box and terminal No. 6 at low tire pressure module harness connector C927. See Figure . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Light Green/Violet wire.
  4. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 7 (Black/Light Blue wire) at low tire pressure module harness connector C927. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black/Light Blue wire.
  5. Remove low tire pressure warning light bulb. Check bulb. If bulb is okay, go to next step. If bulb is not okay, replace bulb.
    6. NOTE: Both low tire pressure bulb control circuits are Black/Yellow wires.
  6. Measure resistance in both Black/Yellow wires between low tire pressure bulb harness connector and terminals No. 4 and 5 at low tire pressure module harness connector C927. If both resistance readings are 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If either resistance reading is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in appropriate Black/Yellow wire.
  7. Disconnect all low tire pressure module harness connectors. Inspect for corrosion and pushed out pins. Reconnect all low tire pressure module harness connectors, ensuring they are connected correctly. Operate system to verify if concern is still present. If concern is still present, replace low tire pressure module. If concern is not present, system is operating correctly at this time. Clear DTCs and retest system operation.
