Test V: Oil Level Warning Inoperative

  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect low oil level switch harness connector C1019. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage at White/Pink wire terminal at low oil level switch harness connector C1019. If 4 volts or less exists, go to next step. If greater than 4 volts exists, replace low oil level switch.
  2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect instrument cluster harness connector C256. Measure resistance between ground and White/Pink wire terminal at low oil level switch harness connector C1019. Resistance should be greater than 10 k/ohms. Measure resistance in White/Pink wire between low oil level switch harness connector C1019 and terminal No. 8 at instrument cluster harness connector C256. See Figure . Resistance should be less than 5 ohms. If resistance is not as specified, repair open or short in White/Pink wire. If resistance is as specified, replace instrument cluster.
