Test Ac: Headlight Chime Does Not Operate Properly

  1. Turn headlights on. If headlights an parking lights operate properly, go to next step. If headlights and parking lights do not operate properly, repair exterior lights. See AUTOLAMP SYSTEMS - CONTINENTAL article.
  2. Using NGS tester, monitor Driver's Door Module (DDM) PID D_DOOR while opening and closing driver's door. If PID agrees with door position, go to next step. If PID does not agree with door position, repair driver's door ajar switch circuit. See ILLUMINATION/INTERIOR LIGHTS article.
  3. Disconnect all LCM harness connectors. Inspect for corrosion and pushed out pins. Reconnect all LCM harness connectors, ensuring they are connected correctly. Operate system to verify if concern is still present. If concern is still present, replace LCM. If concern is not present, system is operating correctly at this time. Clear DTCs and repeat LCM self-test.
