Test Ab: Door Ajar Chime Does Not Operate Properly
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect New Generation Star (NGS) tester to Data Link Connector (DLC). Using NGS tester, retrieve and record Lighting Control Module (LCM) DTCs. Clear continuous DTCs. Perform LCM self-test. If DTC U1198 is not retrieved, go to next step. If DTC U1198 is retrieved, perform Driver's Door Module (DDM) self-test and perform appropriate test. - Using NGS tester, monitor LCM PID P_DOOR while opening and closing passenger's, right rear and left rear doors one at a time. Using NGS tester, monitor DDM PID D_DOOR while opening and closing driver's door. If PIDs agree with door positions, go to next step. If PIDs do not agree with door positions, repair appropriate door ajar switch circuit. See ILLUMINATION/INTERIOR LIGHTS article.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Using NGS tester, monitor LCM PID IGN_LC. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If PID indicates RUN, go to step 4 . If PID does not indicate RUN, repair open in Red/Yellow wire between LCM and instrument panel fuse box.
- Disconnect all LCM harness connectors. Inspect for corrosion and pushed out pins. Reconnect all LCM harness connectors, ensuring they are connected correctly. Operate system to verify if concern is still present. If concern is still present, replace LCM. If concern is not present, system is operating correctly at this time. Clear DTCs and repeat LCM self-test.
