Removal & Installation (With Air Suspension)
WARNING:
DO NOT remove an air spring or any component holding air spring under any circumstance when air spring is pressurized.
- Turn air suspension switch to OFF position. Deplete air from rear air springs. See appropriate ELECTRONIC article in SUSPENSION. Raise and support vehicle. Mark drive shaft flange and rear axle pinion flange for reassembly reference. Remove 4 driveshaft retaining bolt, and wire driveshaft aside.
- Disconnect rear anti-lock brake sensor harness connector. Disconnect parking brake cables at rear wheel. Remove rear brake caliper retaining bolts, and wire calipers aside. Remove rear brake rotors.
- Remove rear stabilizer retainer bracket bolts and remove retainers. Loosen rear stabilizer bar links and bushings. Disconnect air suspension height sensor. Position a suitable jack under rear axle housing and strap housing to jack.
- Remove rear axle tracking assembly retaining bolt and position tracking bar aside. Remove rear suspension stops. Remove both upper front rear suspension arm retaining nuts and bolts at axle housing. Remove both lower rear suspension arm retaining nuts and bolts at axle housing.
- Remove both lower shock retaining nuts and bolts. Disconnect rear axle housing vent hose. Lower and remove axle housing from vehicle. To install, reverse removal procedures. Tighten all nuts and bolt to proper specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
