Description & Operation
WARNING:
Deactivate air bag system before performing any service operation. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article. Do not apply electrical power to any component on steering column without first deactivating air bag system. Air bag may deploy.
Hybrid Electronic Instrument Cluster (HEIC) consists of an electronically driven analog tachometer and speedometer with a 7-digit vacuum-fluorescent display odometer. See Fig 1 . Also contained within the HEIC is a fuel gauge, temperature gauge, transmission range indicator and various warning and indicator lights.
When ignition switch is turned to ON position, the following warning indicators will light for 3 seconds as function proof:
- Anti-Lock Brake System
- Brake System
- Charging System
- Low Oil Pressure
- Traction Control (If Equipped)
