Check Air Ride Message: Functions
- When CHECK AIR RIDE message is displayed in message center, a system error or Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) has been detected and stored by control module. When air suspension is turned off, CHECK AIR RIDE message will also be displayed when ignition is on. The control module will save DTC for the next 80 ignition on/off cycles. If system error is not repeated during 80 ignition cycles, DTC will be erased.
- Because of self-erasing memory, vehicle operator may have had a concern that cannot be retrieved from control module memory. Air suspension system will be disabled for current ignition cycle when a system error is detected. If error is corrected during current ignition cycle, air system will not reactivate until next ignition on/off cycle. For example, this will occur if vehicle is overloaded, exceeding compressor run time which sets a DTC 98, or unloaded without turning ignition off. Vehicle will not adjust for either load, causing poor ride quality and/or no trim adjustment.
