DTC 70: Vent Solenoid

  1. Check Vent Solenoid Connector

Turn air suspension off. Disconnect compressor assembly 4-pin connector, and check terminals for damage or corrosion. Repair if necessary. Check system operation. If connectors are okay, go to next step.
  2. Check For Open Vent Solenoid

Check resistance between vent solenoid Pink wire and Gray wire terminals at compressor 4-pin connector (component side). If resistance is 19-24 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 19-24 ohms, replace compressor assembly and repeat Auto Test.
  3. Check Ground Circuit

Measure resistance between Black wire at 4-pin harness connector and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open ground circuit (Black wire).
  4. Check Pink Wire For Short To Power

Disconnect control module connector C205 (Black). Measure voltage between C205 pin No. 30 (Pink wire) and ground. See Figure. If voltage does not exist, go to next step. If voltage exists, repair short to power on Pink wire.
  5. Check Pink Wire For Short To Ground

Measure resistance between C205 pin No. 30 (Pink wire) and ground. If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, go to next step. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Pink wire. Check system operation.
  6. Check Pink Wire For Open

Measure resistance of Pink wire between control module connector C205 pin No. 30 and 4-pin air compressor harness connector. If resistance is less than 3 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 3 ohms or greater, repair open Pink wire.
  7. Test Control Module Output To Solenoid

Connect control module connector. Turn air suspension off. Turn ignition on. Using voltmeter, backprobe positive lead to control module connector C205 pin No. 30 (Pink wire) and negative lead to ground. Using New Generation Star tester or equivalent, perform vent Function Tests No. 213, 215, 217 or 219. If voltmeter pulses, replace compressor assembly and check system operation. If voltage does not pulse, replace control module and check system operation.
