DTC 60: Left Rear Height Sensor Out Of Range

  1. Check Sensor Mounting

    Turn air suspension off. Check left rear height sensor ball studs and sensor mounting. Repair sensor ball studs or mounting brackets if necessary. If sensors are securely mounted and brackets are not bent, go to next step.

  2. Check For Power To Height Sensor

    Turn ignition on. Disconnect left rear height sensor. Measure voltage between Pink/White and Black/Pink wires at height sensor harness connector. If voltage is 4.5-5.0 volts, go to step  4. If voltage is not 4.5-5.0 volts, go to next step.

  3. Check Black/Pink Wire For Open

    Measure resistance between Black/Pink wire at left rear height sensor harness connector and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair open Pink/White wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open Black/Pink wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS.

  4. Check For Steady 5-Volt Signal

    Reconnect left rear height sensor connector. Turn ignition on. Disconnect left rear height sensor from ball stud. Measure voltage between control module connector C204 pin No. 9 (Orange/Black wire) and ground while exercising left rear height sensor through full travel. See Figure. If voltage remains a steady 5 volts, go to next step. If voltage does not remain steady at 5 volts, go to step  6.

  5. Check For Short Between Orange/Black & Pink/White Wires

    Measure voltage between control module connector C204 pin No. 9 (Orange/Black wire) and ground. If approximately 5 volts exists, repair short circuit between Orange/Black and Pink/White wires. If approximately 5 volts does not exist, replace height sensor. Check system operation.

  6. Check Sensor Signal Return

    Reconnect left rear height sensor connector. Turn ignition on. Disconnect left rear height sensor from ball stud. Measure voltage between control module connector C204 pin No. 9 (Orange/Black wire) and ground while exercising left rear height sensor through full travel. If voltage does not vary between .5-4.5 volts, go to next step. If voltage varies between .5-4.5 volts, check connector C204 for corrosion or damage. Recheck DTCs. If DTC 60 is retrieved, replace control module.

  7. Check For Short To Ground In Orange/Black Wire

    Disconnect control module connector C204 (Black). Measure resistance between C204 pin No. 9 (Orange/Black wire) and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open Orange/Black wire. Check system operation.

  8. Check Height Sensor For Short To Ground

    Disconnect left rear height sensor. Measure resistance between control module connector C204 pin No. 9 (Orange/Black wire) and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Orange/Black wire. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, replace left rear height sensor. Check system operation.
