Height Sensor Operation
Height sensor 5 volts power comes from control module through Pink/White wire circuit. Ground is supplied through Black/Pink wire circuit. Height sensors are always powered during system operation and diagnostics. Vehicle height voltage signal to module is sent through Pink/Black wire (LF), Tan wire (RF), and Orange/Black wire (LR) circuits.
- Check Height Sensor Connection For Damage
Disconnect height sensor connectors and check for damage, corrosion or bent pins. Ensure height sensor connectors are firmly connected. Make repairs or replacements as necessary. Check system operation. If connectors are okay, go to next step. - Check Module Output Voltage
Turn air suspension and ignition on. Connect control module. Backprobe for voltage between C205 pin No. 28 (Pink/White wire) and ground. If reading is less than 4.8 volts, go to step 8. If reading is 4.8 volts or more, go to next step. - Check For Battery Voltage
Turn air suspension and ignition on. Backprobe for voltage between C205 pin No. 28 (Pink/White wire) and ground. If voltage is greater than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to step 5. - Check Pink/White Wire For Short To Power
Turn air suspension and ignition on. Disconnect control module connect C205. Using voltmeter, backprobe between C205 pin No. 28 and ground. If voltage is greater than 10 volts, repair short to power on Pink/White wire. If voltage is less than 10 volts, replace control module. - Short To Power On Rear Height Sensor Circuit
Disconnect left rear height sensor connector. Turn air suspension on. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and C205 pin No. 28 (Pink/White wire). If voltage is greater than 5.2 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 5.2 volts, repair short to power on Orange/Black wire. Check system operation. - Short To Power On Left Front Height Sensor Circuit
Disconnect left front height sensor connector. Turn air suspension on. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and C205 pin No. 28 (Pink/White wire). If voltage is greater than 5.2 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 5.2 volts, repair short to power on Pink/Black wire. Check system operation. - Short To Power On Right Front Height Sensor Circuit
Disconnect right front height sensor connector. Turn air suspension on. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and C205 pin No. 28 (Pink/White wire). If voltage is greater than 5.2 volts, replace control module. If voltage is less than 5.2 volts, repair short to power on Tan wire. Check system operation. - Short To Ground On Rear Height Sensor Signal Circuit
Turn air suspension on. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and C205 pin No. 28 (Pink/White wire). Disconnect left rear height sensor. If voltage is less than 4.8 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 4.8 volts or greater, repair short to ground on Orange/Black wire. Check system operation. - Short To Ground On Left Front Height Sensor Signal Circuit
Turn air suspension on. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and C205 pin No. 28 (Pink/White wire). Disconnect left front height sensor. If voltage is less than 4.8 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 4.8 volts or greater, repair short to ground on Pink/Black wire. Check system operation. - Short To Ground On Right Front Height Sensor Signal Circuit
Turn air suspension on. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and C205 pin No. 28 (Pink/White wire). Disconnect left front height sensor. If voltage is less than 4.8 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 4.8 volts or greater, repair short to ground on Tan wire. Check system operation. - Short To Ground On Pink/White Wire
Turn air suspension on. Turn ignition off. Measure resistance between ground and C205 pin No. 28 (Pink/White wire). If resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, repair short to ground in Pink/White wire. If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, replace control module.
