Knuckle/Hub Assembly (Rear): Installation
- Remove wire holding axle shaft. Position bolts with heads facing rear of vehicle, and position washers on each side between arm and bushing. Install CV joint stub shaft into hub. Install lower rear bolt, washer (put washer between front lower bushing and lower arm) and nut finger tight. Install front lower bolt (with Torx(R) head facing rear of vehicle), washer and nut.
- Align bushing/arm index marks, and tighten lower arm bolts to 94-131 ft. lbs. (127-178 N.m) using Torx(R) Holding Tool (T93P-5494-A). Using 36-mm socket, hand tighten NEW hub nut. Install upper arm bolt, and tighten nut to 117-142 ft. lbs. (159-193 N.m). Install brake caliper and parking brake cable. Install brake cable adjustment clip and tire and wheel assemblies. Lower vehicle and tighten hub nut to 188-254 ft. lbs. (255-344 N.m). Turn air suspension on.
NOTE:
Failure to properly position components will cause bushing wind up when assembled and incorrect ride heights. Resulting conditions will be misalignment, premature bushing wear and/or tire wear.
