Diagnostic Routine

When performing any tests using New Generation Star (NGS) tester, ignition switch must be in RUN position, transmission must be in PARK, drivers seat unoccupied, parking brake applied, all doors and trunk lid closed and all accessories switched off, unless otherwise specified in testing procedure. Follow these steps in order listed to ensure successful diagnosis using vehicle self-diagnostic system:

• Verify concern.
• Check system fuses.
• Check suspension mechanical condition. Check for restricted suspension movement, overloaded trunk or detached height sensor. Repair as necessary.
• Check wires and electrical connections.
• Perform on-demand self-test and pneumatic test. See ON-DEMAND SELF-TEST and PNEUMATIC TEST under DIAGNOSTIC TEST MODES.
• Retrieve and record Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES under DIAGNOSTIC TEST MODES.
• After repair is completed, always perform on-demand self-test and pneumatic test to ensure repair is successful. See ON- DEMAND SELF-TEST and PNEUMATIC TEST under DIAGNOSTIC TEST MODES.
