Removal & Installation (Tension Strut Bushing)

  1. Remove lower control arm. See LOWER CONTROL ARM (FRONT)  . Using Bushing Remover (T86P-5493-A5) and "C" Clamp (T74P-3044-A1) from Service Set (T86P-5493-A), remove tension strut bushing. See Fig 1 . "C" clamp must be installed in a vise when servicing bushings.
CAUTION: Use Rubber Suspension Insulator Lubricant (E25Y-19553-A) on bushing. DO NOT  use petroleum or mineral based oil, as these will cause deterioration of bushing.
  2. Use Bushing Installers (T86P-5493-A1 and T86P-5493-A2) and "C" clamp to install. See Fig 1 . Coat bushing and bushing bore in lower control arm with rubber suspension insulator lubricant. Tighten "C" clamp until bushing is installed.
