Test Y: Unable To Enter On-Demand Self-Test Or Pneumatic Test
- Check Battery Voltage Measure voltage between battery terminals. If voltage is more than 11 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 11 volts, service charging system as necessary. See GENERATOR article in ELECTRICAL section.
- Check Fuse Remove and inspect fuse No. 7 (No. 22 on 1997 models) (30-amp) from power distribution center, located on left side of engine compartment. If fuse is okay, reinstall fuse and go to next step. If fuse is blown, go to step 8).
- Check For Blown Fuse Remove and inspect No. 28 (10-amp) fuse from instrument panel fuse block. If fuse is okay, reinstall fuse and go to next step. If fuse is blown, go to step 9).
- Check Circuit No. 430 Disconnect Vehicle Dynamics Module (VDM) 60-pin connector. VDM is located in trunk, behind package tray. Install Breakout Box (007-00033), leaving VDM disconnected. Check for resistance between ground and test pin No. 60 (Gray wire) at breakout box. If resistance is less than 3 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 3 ohms or more, repair open in Gray wire. Repeat ON-DEMAND SELF-TEST and PNEUMATIC TEST under DIAGNOSTIC TEST MODE .
- Check Circuit No. 418 Remove No. 7 (No. 22 on 1997 models) (30-amp) fuse from power distribution center. Check resistance in Dark Green/Yellow wire between breakout box test pin No. 57 and output terminal at No. 7 (No. 22 on 1997 models) fuse cavity. If resistance is less than 3 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 3 ohms or more, repair open in Dark Green/Yellow wire. Repeat ON-DEMAND SELF-TEST and PNEUMATIC TEST under DIAGNOSTIC TEST MODE .
- Check Circuit No. 298 Remove No. 28 (10-amp) fuse from instrument panel fuse block. Check resistance in Purple/Orange wire between breakout box test pin No. 1 and output terminal at No. 28 fuse cavity. If resistance is less than 3 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 3 ohms or more, repair open in Purple/Orange wire. Repeat ON-DEMAND SELF-TEST and PNEUMATIC TEST under DIAGNOSTIC TEST MODE .
- Check Communication Network Perform communications network diagnostics. See COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK DIAGNOSTICS in MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article under ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT section. If any problems are found, repeat SELF-TEST. If no problems are found, replace VDM. Repeat ON-DEMAND SELF-TEST and PNEUMATIC TEST under DIAGNOSTIC TEST MODE . Adjust riding height. See RIDING HEIGHT under ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTION .
- Check Circuit No. 418 For Short To Ground Disconnect Vehicle Dynamics Module (VDM) 60-pin connector. VDM is located in trunk, behind package tray. Install Breakout Box (007-00033), leaving VDM disconnected. Check resistance between test pins No. 56 (Dark Green/Yellow wire and No. 60 (Gray wire) at breakout box. If resistance is 3 ohms or more, go to step 10). If resistance is less than 3 ohms, repair short to ground in Dark Green/Yellow wire. Replace fuse No. 7 (No. 22 on 1997 models) and repeat ON-DEMAND SELF-TEST and PNEUMATIC TEST under DIAGNOSTIC TEST MODE .
- Check Circuit No. 298 For Short To Ground Check resistance between test pins No. 1 (Purple/Orange wire) and No. 60 (Gray wire) at breakout box. If resistance is 3 ohms or more, go to next step. If resistance is less than 3 ohms, repair short to ground in Purple/Orange wire. Replace fuse No. 28 and repeat ON-DEMAND SELF-TEST and PNEUMATIC TEST under DIAGNOSTIC TEST MODE .
- Check VDM Connect VDM to breakout box. Check resistance between breakout box test pin No. 60 (Gray wire) and test pins No. 37 (Dark Green/Yellow wire) and No. 1 (Purple/Orange wire). If resistance less than 3 ohms in either circuit, replace VDM. Replace fuses and repeat ON-DEMAND SELF-TEST and PNEUMATIC TEST under DIAGNOSTIC TEST MODE . If resistance is 3 ohms or more in either circuit, no problem is indicated at this time. Replace fuses and repeat ON-DEMAND SELF-TEST and PNEUMATIC TEST under DIAGNOSTIC TEST MODE .
